Akarmak Autoclave Strengthens TÜBİTAK SAGE’s Composite Production and Testing Infrastructure
TÜBİTAK SAGE stands out as a Turkey-based institute with a strong R&D, testing and production infrastructure, developing systems and subsystems specific to the defense industry. As Akarmak, we continue to develop solutions for the defense, aerospace, and space industries while contributing to the R&D capacity of our region. In this context, the composite autoclave we produced is now actively used in both production and testing processes within the Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE) of TÜBİTAK.
Akarmak Composite Autoclave Used in Key Projects at TÜBİTAK SAGE
Composite materials produced in autoclaves gain superior mechanical and physical properties as they are cured under high temperature and pressure. This production method ensures that the resin completely permeates between the fibers without voids, forming a homogeneous structure within the material. As a result, autoclave composites exhibit high tensile, compressive and flexural strength along with low porosity and high surface quality.
These materials are especially preferred in the defense, aerospace and space industries, as they offer superior properties such as high specific strength (strength-to-weight ratio), dimensional stability and fatigue resistance.
The Akarmak composite autoclave at TÜBİTAK SAGE enhances composite material production and testing capabilities. The autoclave can operate up to 400°C temperature and 15 bar pressure. These high-performance parameters ensure exceptional quality and reliability in the production of aerospace-grade resins and carbon-fiber-reinforced composites.
As Akarmak, we continue to strengthen the production infrastructure for next-generation composite materials used in defense, aerospace, and space technologies. We take great pride in the contribution of our composite autoclave at TÜBİTAK SAGE to our country’s and region’s advanced material production and testing capabilities.
